my dog has always humped a boot, never a real female dog. He has been meeting with a female in heat for the last week and he is all over her, but it doesnt look like he is actually penetrating, just rubbing it against her. Can anything be done to improve his chances of being a daddy
Answers:
he'll catch on to it, just leave him alone, she will let him know how and where and when to put it in the right spot.
Nature will take its course %26 he'll eventually make contact.you won't need to do anything to help them along!
But beware sweetheart you are gonna get some pro-shelter people critisizing your choice to breed your dogs.
Good Luck %26 please make sure you interview %26 screen prospective puppy families before you allow them to take one of your precious Maltese pups home!
when you're putting any new male out to stud, they could have troubles. it's no different than a boy or girl's first time. after the male and female dog have had a bit of time to aquaint with one another and the male starts doing his thing, the female should appear receptive presenting her hind quarters to him offering him the mount. he should start doing his thing. if he doesn't appear to be penetrating, you can reach around under there and guide him in. not a big deal. also, if you can't tell if he's managed penetration, just feel around a bit and see if he's actually managed to do the deed. upon completion of the act, he should be "stuck" to her for a bit in that's the way the dogs anatomy in their private bits work.
he will do it. they usually won't do it around people. my male dog was the same way. intil we came home one day and they were stuck together.
first of all why are you planning on breeding? is your dog free of
health issues? is the female? these are things to think about. you
could be breeding unwanted health issues that your unaware of.
second, that female might not want to breed with your male, not
all breedings are successful. the first week a female comes into heat, the second and third week is usually prime for breeding, and the fourth week they go out of heat. different breeds of dogs may vary. most breeders know their dogs heat cycles for best
breeding times. consult your vetanarian and a professional breeder for more information on proper breeding.
