My 7 month old mini schnuazer shows signs of having worms. I don't know if she has them or not. She has been going #2 a lot and its runny. What is the treatment if she has them?

The puppy's stomach will be rock hard like it just ate a feast even if it's been 3 hourse since it ate. also, it won't have a lot of energy and it will be going to the bathroom a lot, rubbing it's butt on the carpet, and taking forever to go to the bathroom. The vet will be able to give you the proper treatment for the diagnosis.
However don't take the butt rubbing only as a sign. That's also how dogs try to empty their anal glands.
look in the poop
At night time when the dog rests, if it has worms, they will come out of it's anus at night, to reproduce. Lift the dogs tail, and look around the anus, and surrounding area for what looks like small moving pieces of rice. Or small dried up pieces of rice.
examine the droppings. If your still not sure, go to the vet.
If it trys to wipe his butt on the ground a lot and look in his/her poop.
It's in his poop. You'll see them. It doesn't have to be runny. A lot of puppies poop is like that, so I wouldn't worry. He'll grow out of it!

You will know if your dog has worms if it eats but dont gain any weight, it's pooh is runny all the time, and if you see some worms in her pooh
bring little nasty to the vet, they'll give him a dewormer. no more than about $50.00 average
Take her to the vet and he will do a fecal test. He will give you specialized wormer. you don't want to give her any more of that stuff (it's poison after all!) than she needs and that is why it's important to bring a vet into the situation.

You need to take her and a stool sample to the vet and have it checked for worms. A wormy dog usually has a distended stomach. They look bloated, but skinny elsewhere. You may or may not see worms in the stool. If the poop is bloody, it could be a number of things. If it is just loose, it could be food related, worms, among other things. It might be a good idea to take to the vet. Could be parvo or something bad like that and the sooner you get the dog to the vet, the better.
Look through the poop carefully to see if any appear. They are small but they do move. If it's a puppy don't use a pet store compound, take it to the vet or your local animal control facility

look at poop does it have litle white dots or mini maggot looking things if it does take dog to vet can be expensive at vet but if not treated can become sick or possibly die
Take her to the vet to have her checked to see if she has worms and treat her. Their are worm meds that you can buy over the counter at petsmart or petco. But you still need to take her to get checked. All dogs need to make regular visits to the vet. Worming your dog regularly is merely up keep because all dogs get them from time to time.
You will be able to see them in her bowel movement, and she will begin to eat more, but not gain weight. My black lab puppy had them when he as little, we gave him medicine that we got from wal-mart for puppies, and it worked. Some dogs have to go to the vet. If she has them try getting something for her from like a wal-mart, and if that don't work you will have to take her to the vet.
i would take her to the vet you don't want to take a chance with a dog that young if she does have worms your vet will know what to do
thier gums will whiten and not be pink anymore. Also, they may have loose bowel movements. Give her some yellow liquid worm medicine called nemex II. Every 2-3 weeks until she improves.
