how come miniature schnauzers have stubs for tails?

Answers:
Schnauzers have their tails docked because that is the breed standard for how they are supposed to look. If you really wanted to you could contact a breeder before getting a puppy and arrange for it not to have its tail docked.

I just got a miniature schnauzer/yorkie mix puppy and I willnot dock his tails. Any dog behaviorist will tell you, dogs communicate with their tails with each other, and with humans.
