Near my working place, there is a dog which a few times turn agressive towards me (not sure why. I never disturb neither bother the dog before). How to prevent this from happening? I heard about paper spray, etc, but if I use that, will the dog become more aggressive next time as he will want to take revenge?

We used to live in a country community where the dogs were allowed to run at large, and several of them were aggressive.. I would arm my kids with a cheap can of hairspray..You don't have to aim at the dog, but only the air at dog nose level..they back off, and respect your space..the stuff won't harm them, or cause any pain, but it stinks like skunk to them.lol
You can get it in small size, to carry in your pocket, but be sure to get the aerosol kind, and not the spritz kind..the aerosol makes the hissing sound, like a snake, which helps too..

Well, many mail carriers and delivery people up here where I live like to carry dog treats with them instead of pepper spray (they claim it's more effective..hehehe). Maybe try giving the dog a treat when you see him, maybe the dog can sense you're uneasy around him and that's why he's acting the way he is towards you.
Whatever you do if a dog comes at you lift up your arms above your head (as you want something to get him off with if he does happen to grab you0 then start yelling if this doesn't work then a water pistol filled with water in your pocket should do it no pepper spray it will more than likely make him aggresive.
Can ask you that did you ever eat dog meat before? If have the dog will be aggressive to you cause they can smell the smell of the dog meat even thought it has been digested.if not, maybe the dog has gne nut or something. if it bite you, punch it nose instead of running.cause that is their weak point and next it see u it will be afraid of u.
Contact the dog's owner and tell him/her about the dog's behaviour and your apprehensions. Hopefully he/she will understand and take precautions to see that people are not accessible to the dog. If not, do carry a harmless but stinging spray in your bag just in case you are attacked. Without harming it in any serious way, the spray should help you get away from it if it does attack you. If it doesn't attack you, just try to get past it as peacefully as you can with slow movements. Avoid eye contact. NEVER RUN if it gets really close to you. Staying in place without movement sometimes can make the dog feel you are not threatening it in anyway. It will sniff around you and may buzz off. Don't fear dogs. Each breed is different in its behaviour and compatability with adults and children. Learn about them, understand them. It should make you handle not just this dog, but most dogs in a better way than now. There are of course the exceptions to dogs in each breed. Take care. You should never make eye contact with the dog, look away if he looks at you. Dogs perceive people staring at them as a threat. Also don't walk directly towards him, walk away from him if he starts to get threatening. And try to project a good mood. Walk happily forward, say hi puppy (or whatever) in a happy voice and see if that doesn't help. Try giving him a few treats as you walk by. Don't use pepper spray. That won't help matters AT ALL. It will work the first time but he will be more aggressive the next.
First of all; NEVER RUN because you become instant prey. Dogs are predators. If the dog seems hostile do not turn your back. Face the dog and walk slowly backwards. Do not look the dog in the eye; that is a challenge and the dog will take you up on it. Find something to throw at the dog and keep it raised up in your hand as if your going to throw it and keep backing away. This will give the dog second thoughts but it won't make it run away. However, it may give you time to get to a safe place (door, fence, etc).
If you use pepper spray, that will stop him for a little while. The dog knows your personal scent and will remember you. Squirt that mutt every time he confronts you. Eventually it will know that your smell means bad news and he will leave you alone.
If you know some one who is friendly with the dog and can 'introduce' you then that's even better.
If it is a trained attack dog; arm yourself.
try to locate his owner and ask them to keep him up, if you cant find them then report to the authorities, he could be dangerous to children and doesnt need to run loose
Maybe the dogs were feeling you are angry or suspicious.
I carry a bug zapper it looks lice a small tennis racket. It's made to kill bees and bugs and does a good job. It takes two batteries and gives enough of a jolt to make the dog back off without hurting it. I got mine at harbor freight.com for about three dollars
