how to start new dog kennel?

need to know what I need to do to start a dog kennel
Answers:
Whether you are a breeder, broker, or a traveling circus you have to go through the USDA. So contact them, and they'll send you a package of info to read. Then schedule your inspection and you'll go from there!
show people that you love dogs. start at a low price then rasie it. its a big resonsibleity so think. get a dog if don't have one save up money and do fund rasiers
Do you mean a puppy mill? Or do you want to start boarding animals?

Maybe you mean something totally different and I'm not getting it.
You need to know about caring for dogs, which i am assuming you don't otherwise you wouldn't have to ask this question because you would know people who have this information. If you don't know anything about dogs then its not a good idea.
A dog kennel is a big responsibility. If dogs are boarded some need medications. They must be allowed outside in an enclosed area two or three times a day. I think you would be wise to visit one in your area and talk to the owner and even ask for a tour. It is a whole lot of work. I worked at one and it is non stop work.
First of all, you need to find a dog bred to start with. I'd start with a Lab, or another poupler bred like the German Shepherd, or a Golden Retriver. Find a great reg. female or male. Be prepared to pay a high price for a quailty dogs. A reg. dog, with some champion bloodline. After you find atleast two females, and one male. Make sure you have the papers on all the dogs, and then when they are atleast 4 or older you can bred them. If you get a good bred I'd sell the pups, say I bred labs I'd sell the pups if they were good for $450.00 for females, and $350.00 For males. Are you bording dogs? If you are not breeding, but bording make sure the dogs are heatly before you get them or you could get sued for a dog dying.
Good Luck!
Tell us more - what services will the kennel offer? Day care? Long-term care?

There are a number of things to consider when starting a dog services business. The top three incude:

1. Your training and knowledge.
2. Demand in your area.
3. Funds to start.

Look honestly at why you want to start your own biz, and if you can afford it. Plan that you will not make ANY money for TWO YEARS. You will probably make money before that, but it is better to play it safe.

Specific Suggestions:
- Develop a biz plan.
- Attend training in business management.
- Attend training in working with dogs.
- Work at a dog kennel to learn about how they work.
- Ask other people what they honestly think about your idea. If everyone looks worried when you ask them, think about another idea.

Remember, just because you love animals doesn't mean you would be great working with them.
