How to stop a dog from chewing irrigation lines!?

My 1 year old female dog has developed a bad habit of digging up the irrigation to each plant in our yard. Everytime I fix it, she manages to get back at it, I even take her to the spot and scold her, but nothing works, not even hot pepper! She licks it right off!! Please help.

Lay down chicken wire and cover it. I have a Brittany spaniel that is a digger and once she touched the chicken wire it stopped her cold in her tracks. With Brittany's scolding them only makes it worse maybe that's your dogs problem too. Also alot of dogs wont dig through rocks and not the smooth ones you buy at the store because they don't like the feel on their feet. But chicken wire is cheap just tack it down well
um maybe cover it in vinegar. pour it all over. they hate that smell and maybe she wont even try to dig if she smells is coming from the ground/
There are sprays from the pet store that will keep animals from digging in certain areas. Have you tried vinegar? Just don;t get a large concentration on your plants.
YIKES!! Our dog had the same proplem with the carpet though.and nothing worked, not even the spray from the pet store.so try the chicken wire thing or barbed wire..thats one thing she probably won't dig through
We put moth balls in the places where our dog likes/wants to dig and it worked!
I think they hate cayanne pepper. Try it. Puppies will do this for a few years. Train her otherwise, or it might not go away.
dogs can't stand the smell of ammonia. I even use it on plastic trash bags left on the curb without being in a trash container for the garbage man and they will not touch it. try spraying some on your irrigation system or around the outside of your plants.
