my boxer has just turned 2yrs is from a champion bloodline and a pedigree he is healthy weighs 35kg vets say he will fill out because of the size of his head its bigger than most.what is the best way?and does the size of his head have anything to do with his growth potential?many thanx

Just because he's two doesn't mean he's done filling out. Boxer pups are very active, and don't usually reach full potential until nearly 3 or so.
Try giving him a quality diet

And get him either a flirt pole or a spring pole. (you can make these yourself, and provide a lot of exercises and build up the shoulder/neck area.)

Some people also firmly believe in a little drag pulling, meaning you use a "pull" harness with a small amount of weight added, slowly increase weight and length of pull. this helps build muscle real well too. http://www.harnessesbycarol.com/.
** Always get your dog a full physical and have his hips checked before starting any real weight training. http://www.pennhip.org/ or http://www.offa.org/
You want to be very careful doing this, and understand it may take time. The boxer breed usually takes some time to fill out anyways. You may have to just wait. Make sure you keep him on a very healthy diet. Nutro is what I use for my dog. Obviously, don't over feed him to fill him out, he will just get fat, and getting an overweight dog to loose weight is more difficult than to get a dog to fill out. Try to get a food that is targeted for your dogs style. If he is really hyper, get an active dog food, for example. If you feel you need to increase his food, do so gradually, very gradually. If you see him packing on the wrong type of pounds, DON'T go back to where you started, but rather gradually give him less food, until you find a balance. Keep him well exercised, well nourished, and you will have a healthy dog.
Just wait. Some dogs take a long time to mature. I have one basset hound male who was 5 years old before he was fully filled out.
