It has enough room for him and is in a good spot. I think he just doesn't want to go in and will sit outside in the rain freezing. I can force him in but can't keep him in. He is on a rope but can still gt into the house. The dog house is right by his favorite spot to sit outside. It is against the house. It sits right on the ground. He is a larger dog. About the size of a dobberman. He is a mutt.

Start leaving him treats in there. :) Also, put something comfy for him to lay on - maybe something that smells like you. Is it a brand new house to him? Maybe he doesn't understand it's his. Just keep tossing treats and stuff in there - just don't force him in. Give it time - eventually he will go in. :)
well u could try to put a treat in it or dog food try wet food to
don't know if this is your answer , but my dog wouldn't go in her house either, but a few days ago with hunting season starting there were gun shots outside and my neighbor said she was shaking so hard he picked her up and put her in the house and she finally stayed. now when we come home . sometimes you see her coming out of it. yeah!! we put toys in it and even crawled in with her. but nothing worked till she got scared i guess. so maybe if you scare her somehow sounds cruel . but i'm happy she finally uses it, when we're not home.
thank goodness! my dog isn't crazy!
my old dog use to never go in her dog house, she refused to go in. but, she's passed on now.
what i would say to do is put a cheap chushin in there and maybe put a bowl of his food in a corner of it.
if he really likes food like my dog does put some food in his house that might work and if not put a lot of food in
your foot will do the trick
Tying a dog near a dog house can be a recipe for disaster. Some dogs have actually wound up getting on top of the house, jumping off, and hanging themselves. A longer rope does not guarantee safety, as the dog can circle the dog house, shortening the rope. Just wanted to bring this to light in case you didn't know.
As far as the dog house is concerned, make it a "pleasant" positive place. Put a blanket and/or dog bed in it. Make sure it is raised off of the floor, so that air can circulate under the dog house. Dogs are pack animals and your dog might not want to be in the dog house because he wants to be inside with you.
When he shows interest in the dog house, getting close, looking at it, smelling it, tell him "in" or "house" whatever you word you want to associate with the dog house. Treat and praise!
Toss treats in the dog house to entice him in. Feed him his meals in the dog house. Buy a kong and stuff it with goodies, and toss that in the house.
Put something that has your scent on it in the house to comfort him.
