How can you make a beagle stop peeing in the house? Beside making him stay outside.?
Answers:
if he is peeing in the same spot put his food there.. also clean with a vinager and water solution there noses are very sensitve and want to mark there territory and can still smell it.. the vinager solution should elimnate the smell..
Uh.. house break him.
take your dog to training in pets smart!
HE has to be house broken. When you let him outside just get down on your knees and bar go "woof woof" and then let him out. It woked for my dog within like 1 month. If not, the dog will eventually learn not to do it and bark at you when he needs to go pee pee.
re house train him. http://www.ddfl.org/behavior/retrain-dog. Also keep him on a leash in the house, until he learns.
He needs potty training. Purchase a crate and keep him there when you cannot supervise him. it should be just large enough that he can stand and turn around in it. He should get up in the morning and go straight from the crate to the yard to potty, then feed him and walk him again. If you will not be home he should go back to his crate. when you return home take him right outside and let him potty then spend time and enjoy him. when you go to bed he goes to his crate.
im doing the same thing right now with a miniature pincer. take her outside every 15 minutes, dont get mad when she goes in the house, dont let her out of your sight %26 remember it can take up to 6 months!
get a dog kennel, stick him in there, take him outside every 20 minutes or so, reward him with treats and praise him if he goes outside. if he pees on the floor, yell at him and stick him in his kennel for 20 minutes, (worked with my dog)
everytime he pees in the house, take him to the pee, spank him hard enough so he knows he did somethine wrong but not hard enough that it hurts him too much. scold him so he knows what he did wrong. and make him stay outside for an hour. i know it sounds a bit cruel, but that's the only way i could teach my dog. it took hima week or two to learn.
Get a kennel for inside the house. Dog's don't pee or poop in their bedding's. Put the dog in the kennel every time he is in the house and make sure he has plenty of water in there. then let him out in the backyard or take him for a walk and let him do his business. Usually dogs do their business 30 minutes after their meals. Give the dog a treat, every time he does his business and tell him/her that he/she is a good dog in a very calm voice. At night, put him back in the kennel. The dog will get used to his kennel and will safe at the same time. Just make sure, you take him out on a regular schedule. Never scream or hit a dog, when he pees or poops in the house. Good luck with you dogie.
we have had this problem ourselves,it's important to understand first that if your dog is a puppy he/she cannot hold it all day.
They aren't able to hold it for long periods until they are mature.
We found that if we take them out right when they wake up it will teach them that outside is where they are supposed to go.
But you have to be consistent and do it every time.
Before long your dog will be trained to go to the door and ask you to take him/her out.
