I always spend a couple days with the pup before naming it. That way you can watch his personality. Or maybe something just funny happens. They have lists and lists of dog names online if you cant come up with one. Puppies are sooo much fun. And loads of work!

Quite often the inspiration for a pets name can come from their behavior or some physical trait. If you get a dog with golden colored fur you could name it "HONEY", for example.

You might want to consider getting the puppy a few weeks BEFORE Christmas. The holiday season is stressful enough without introducing a young pup into a strange new household. If you get it just after Thanksgiving, for example, he/she will already be a settled member of the family and on the road to being trained by the time Christmas rolls around. Just a thought.

A good way to pick a good name for your new arrival will be to spend quality time with her/him.
Their own personality is usually a great indicator of which name 'fits' them best.
