I am thinking about getting a Rottweiler puppy. I just have a few questions.?

Do you think the dog will interact well with my little cat? Do you know if they are ok with kids and unfortuantley we are out of the house 9-10 hours a day do you think the dog will be okay in the house by him/herself? Thank you!!
Answers:
We have a rottweiler and a cat and they interact just fine together, they will just have to get used to eachother. We also have 3 kids and our rotty grew up with them. She is great with them and is very protective of them. The rotty should be fine for the time you are gone. You will have to housetrain the puppy. There will probably be a period where the dog may act out by making a mess (knocking over the trash, chewing on shoes, etc.), but that is normal at first. Overall, everything will be fine.
Our dog just had a litter of pups 2 weeks ago, so if you are still thinking about getting one you can contact me at kimberlydino@yahoo.com
If you are gone that long every time, I recommend just getting another cat. Dogs need more human interaction.
I don't think any puppy regardless of breed is going to be ok being caged up for that long. As far as getting along with cat, I would say yes. And every breed are ok with kids, its how you raise the dog. Rotts as they grow up will become very protective of the kids.
Unless you plan on having a dog walker, it's not a good idea to get a puppy if you will be out of the house for 9-10 hours. Puppies need LOTS of bathroom breaks, and lots of attention to train them and get them socialized so they'll be good companions. If you leave a dog alone this long- any kind of dog, they will get bored and destructive.
my niehgbor has a rotti and does get along with the cats she lives with but when she sees another its like she wants to kill it. and she dosent get along with babys. maybe kids. she tried to bite a baby. she goes through the garbage when everyone is out of the house. but rotti's do have prey drive like she does she attacks alot of dogs. and she almost had to get put down.
well it probably wont get along with the cat but if your not home half the day you probably shouldnt get it because you wouldnt be there to play with it feed it or let it out to go to the bathroom
Rottweilers are people dogs- great with people and usually good with smaller animals or other pets. However, they require a lot of work. You want to make sure they are well trained from the beginning, because as they get to be bigger than your kids, bad behavior won't be funny anymore.
I would say no to most puppies if you're away 10 hours a day, especially a Rottweiler. They're great dogs, but they need more supervision than most.
